Kristin walks down the stairs past Nathan: Hello

Nathan: So I suppose you are upset this guy is on board too.

Kristin: No, it was my idea. (She turns to look at him) So are you upset with me?

Nathan: Dammit Kristen, (walking to her) why did you have to go to Malcolm’s in the first place?

Kristin: You don’t have the right to tell me where I can and cannot go.  It was my time off and I took it.

Nathan: I know you can do whatever you want.

Kristin: Thank You

Nathan: What, there’s not enough for you to do on this boat?

Kristin: If you don’t want me working with Malcolm…

Nathan:  Did I say that, I don’t think I said that?

Kristin: Nathan if you don’t want me spending time with Malcolm maybe we should talk about it

Nathan: It’s just that he’s kind of crazy, you know

Kristin laughing: Yeah, he’s one of your friends (pause and gets somewhat serious) I think you’re jealous

The famous looks where they realize that he is jealous and they might actually have feelings for each other.  Nathan walks away leaving Kristin standing there watching him.  She pulls herself together and starts after him.

Kristin: Nathan, please wait (Nathan stops and looks at her) I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said that.

Nathan looks into her deep sable eyes and sees regret in them over her comment earlier.  He moves closer to her and gently caresses her cheek with his fingers and gently kisses her.  At first she doesn’t react but when she feels his tongue pressing for entrance she looses her self in the moment.  She parts her lips allowing him to continue as she brings her hands up to run them through is hair.  After a few moments they break the kiss.

Nathan:  I am just afraid that you are right Doctor.

Nathan then walks away leaving Kristin standing there as she brings her hand
up to her lips remembering the last few moments.

Later that day after Caesar’s swim with Darwin
 

Nathan decides he should go and talk to Kristen about what happened earlier and Malcolm.  He goes to her quarters and knocks on the door.

Kristin: It’s open (she turns from her notes) Nathan

Nathan: Hi. Are you busy (looking towards the notes) because if you are I can come back later (suddenly hoping she says she is)?

Kristin:  No, This is nothing that can’t wait.  What can I do for you?

Nathan: Well, I wanted to talk about this morning

Kristin: Oh, I see

Nathan:  Yeah, I didn’t have a right to tell you not to go work at Malcolm’s and I wanted to apologize if I was out of line.

Kristin: I thought you didn’t say that

Nathan: Well, no I didn’t but it is what I meant.  I tried to cover myself when I realized what I was doing.  I guess what I am trying to say now is I would like it if you stayed here on the boat.  You have every right to leave but I wanted to let you know that if you left I would miss you and that I would like it if you stayed.

Kristin answers matter-of-factly: OK

Nathan: Ok?

Kristin: Yep, ok I will stay.

Nathan:  You weren’t really going to go were you?

Kristin:  I realized this morning working with Caesar and Darwin and talking to you that this is where I belong.

Nathan: I went through all that and you weren’t even leaving

Kristin: Well I wanted to hear what you had to say. Thank you for sharing how you really felt with me. It was nice to hear.

Nathan: He has a crush on you, you know

Kristin:  Yes I know.  He’s not very good at hiding it, but he is a brilliant man and I like being around him.  But you don’t have to worry about me; I have a crush of my own.

Nathan:  Really, Anyone I know?

Kristin: Maybe you should just wait and see.

Nathan and Kristin begin to move closer to each other. She places her hands gently on his shoulders and he places his lightly on her hips.  They move their heads closer together and there lips brush against each other.

Ford: Captain report to the bridge immediately, Captain to the bridge

 Nathan & Kristin pull apart and both look like they got caught doing something wrong.
Nathan pulls out his PAL and responds: Commander I am on my way (then to Kristin) I am sorry

Kristin: I understand, go

Mess Hall
 

Kristin: Couldn’t sleep?

Nathan: Nope, is that chocolate?

Kristin: Mmmm, Mmmmm

Nathan: Looks good (takes one for himself) Malcolm make it home okay?

Kristin: Yes, he’s I just nervous about taking care of Caesar but he’ll do fine

Nathan: I’m sure he will (pauses and sighs) been quite a day

Kristin: Nathan, can we talk about what is going on between us.  First the talk on the seadeck, and then in my cabin, and now here you are talking to me like none of that ever took place.

Nathan: I’m sorry

Kristin a little angry: Don’t be sorry just talk to me.  Tell me what you are feeling, thinking anything

Nathan looks down at his pudding:  I honestly don’t know.  When I am with you I feel great, like I haven’t felt in a long time.  When I am not with you I find myself thinking about you. Wondering about what you are doing, if you are thinking about me, and if you feel the same way I do. When you and Malcolm were together and I knew that he was interested in you it drove me crazy. When you called this morning and Milos was there I felt my insides jump and I hoped you okay and that he didn’t hurt you.  I look at you and think what a beautiful, intelligent, exciting woman you are.  When I hear you laugh I have to smile because I know that you are happy and ….

Nathan suddenly stops talking realizing all the stuff he has just told her. He never thought he would tell her that stuff but when she asked it just came out.  He looks up from his pudding to see Kristen leaning against the cooler with tears in her eyes just looking at him.  She walks to him and puts her pudding down on the counter.  He takes his out of his hands and puts it next to hers on the counter.  She gently runs her fingers over his cheeks, chin, and jaw line just taking in his face at this moment.  He gently takes his finger and wipes away her tears.  She leans in to kiss him but before they do she whispers: I think I am falling in love with you, too.  They finally meet in a passionate, loving kiss.
