PART 7

Harm finally made it over to the officer's club after accompanying Corporal Pyle to the infirmary. Mac had been anxiously watching the door for his appearance for the past hour. 'He should have been here already.' She breathed deeply making herself appear more relaxed than she was. When he entered the crowded club, she felt herself finally relax. She had wanted to forewarn him that she had seen a vision of him in danger, but her vision was not clear. There was nothing she could specifically warn him about that he didn't already know. She had never had a vision that involved warnings only the aftermath of an event.

Mac watched the climate of the club chill considerably, as the occupants became aware of Captain Nelson's presence. Harm elected to go with bourbon neat tonight. He needed something to help him strengthen his resolve, and a cute pineapple drink wasn't going to cut it tonight.

Harm sensed Toby Strahan's glare before he spoke to him. "You tried to make us look like fools today." Harm turned and noted the blood shot eyes of a man who had had a few too many.

"You're drunk Strahan. Besides didn't your mother ever tell you that the only person who can make you look like a fool is yourself." Harm turned back to his drink before he felt the man's tight grasp on his shoulder as he spun him around striking him in the gut with his fist. Harm doubled over in pain and before Strahan could hit him again, several Marines where all over the drunken officer restraining him.

Mac placed herself between the two men, "Captain Strahan BACK OFF, do you want to be arrested for striking a fellow officer." She turned to Harm. "Captain, do you wish to press charges."

Harm looked menacingly at the drunken Marine officer, "No don't bother. He's just drunk."

MP's had appeared and were standing waiting instructions. "Please escort Captain Strahan to his quarters." Mac instructed and then hissed quietly into the inebriated officer's ear. "You lucked out this time. But if you so much as think about striking another officer, I will personally prosecute your ass into Leavenworth."

Mac turned her attention back to Harm who appeared to have quickly recovered, "Captain, you should go to the infirmary."

"I'm fine Colonel. That was just a little male bonding thing going on." He finished his drink and headed out of the club. Mac followed him, "Captain, I need some information from you. I'll escort you back towards your quarters." She said loudly enough to explain her actions to anyone who may have been watching.

"Harm, why didn't you press charges. Strahan is apparently one of our 'judge and jury'. If we pressed him, he may have given us more names." Mac whispered as they slowly made their way back to base housing.

"Strahan is not one of them. He's just a typical jarhead."

"How do you know, and what do you mean by that comment Squid!"

"Too obvious. He's not the blanket party type. He handles his problems up front. He doesn't like me, and he's never tried to hide it."

"And just what is a typical jarhead?"

"Too stubborn for his own good."

"And is that suppose to be a bad thing?" Mac replied defensively.

"Did I say it was?"

"You implied it was."

"So now you think you can read my mind?"

"You are pretty transparent." Mac retorted.

"Transparent! Okay just what am I thinking now?" Harm challenged.

"You're ticked off because I'm right, and you maybe wrong."

"Wrong about what?"

"About Strahan."

"You want to make a bet?" Harm responded agitatedly.

"Yea!" Mac fired back.

"If I'm right you have to wear those war game t-shirts for a week." Harm proposed defiantly.

"And if I'm right you have to wear them to work!" Mac countered as she poked her finger into his chest.

"You too! Deal!" Harm agreed in a huff as he pointed his finger at her.

"Deal!"

"Goodnight. And Mac I wouldn't plan to star on one of those psychic network shows just yet if I were you." He smirked sarcastically.

"Well don't expect me to help fish your frozen six out of the Atlantic again!" Mac exploded.

"Having regrets Sarah? That's the second mean comment you've made. You're really on a roll! And for your information I was not thinking about how ticked off I was!" He turned and hobbled down the sidewalk towards his quarters leaving Mac reeling.

She was so angry that tears formed in her eyes as she stormed back to her quarters and slammed every door she passed through. "Damn Flyboy, I should have let that blonde bimbo from the base have you. You and those stupid blondes!"

Harm was so angry by the time he reached his quarters that he kicked the trash can in his room with his casted foot. "Damn!" He screeched. "Why did she have to be that way? She should have married that dingo from down under. They deserved each other!" He ranted to himself as he rocked back and forth rubbing the offended leg. "Where are those damn pain pills."
